The flashy boisterous boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has recently revealed to an ESPN writer that his bank account is worth $123 million. This should be no surprise if you have watched any video involving Floyd you usual see him with wades of cash in hand. That’s where he gets his name Money Mayweather.

In any case, Mayweather will add to his bank account with his next fight where he is rumored to get a payday of over $40 million plus PPV revenue. If this is true, $40 million is the largest guaranteed purse and this pay per view may break the one he and Oscar Del Hoya set back in 2007 with 2.5 million PPV buys. Win or lose Mayweather is looking at another hefty check. In 2011 and 2012 Mayweather was the highest paid athlete, and with two fights for 2013 he will probably be at the top of the list this year.

Mayweather’s large bank account just means he has been smart with his money up until now the real problem begins when he retires and begins life after boxing. Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and a long list of boxers who made money during their career only to lose it all after they hung up the gloves. Mayweather now lives a flamboyant lifestyle but will he be able to adjust his lifestyle after boxing?
